Privacy Policy

The short version: we use your photos, videos and answers to make your film, and nothing else. We don't sell your data, and we never use your media for marketing or to train AI unless you give us separate permission. Your photos and videos are deleted automatically 30 days after you first upload them, and your finished film link lasts 30 days from when we deliver it.

1. Who we are

Holibusters ("we", "us") makes personalised, funny films from families' holiday photos and videos. We are based in the UK and are the data controller for the personal information described here. For anything about this policy or your information, email us at info@holibusters.com.

2. What we collect

When you order a film, we collect:

We don't use advertising trackers or analytics tools on this site, and the public site doesn't set any cookies. See our Cookies page for exactly what is saved on your device.

3. What's saved on your device

While you fill in the order form, your browser saves your progress on your own phone or computer so you can stop and come back later. This includes your answers, your name and email, and a list of the files you've chosen. The photos and videos themselves are not saved there. It stays on your device and we can't see it. When you send your order, your saved answers are cleared and only your order number is kept on your device. The site also remembers whether you turned the shop sounds on, and, after you send an order, your order number and receipt so you can open your receipt again. You can clear all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Full details are on our Cookies page.

4. How we use it

AI tools

We use AI tools to help edit and make your film, for example to help choose and cut clips, find each person in your photos and videos using the face photos you give us, and suggest titles and captions. We use these tools only to make your film. We don't use AI to make any decisions about you that have legal or similarly important effects.

5. Our lawful bases

6. People in your film

Your photos, videos and answers will include other people, such as family and friends. Before you send an order, you confirm that everyone in these photos and videos is happy to be in the film, and that you're the parent or guardian of any children in them. Only a parent or guardian can send us photos and videos of children. Anyone who appears in a film can contact us to use the rights in section 11.

7. Who helps us

We use a small number of service providers who handle data for us, only on our instructions:

We never sell your personal information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

8. Storage outside the UK

Your uploads and order details are currently stored by Cloudflare in a data centre in the United States. Cloudflare may also process data in other countries to deliver the website. Where your data goes outside the UK, it's protected by the safeguards UK GDPR requires. For Cloudflare, these are the standard contractual clauses in Cloudflare's data processing terms, together with the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum issued by the ICO. Email us if you'd like more detail.

9. How long we keep it

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See section 11.

10. Your media stays yours

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email info@holibusters.com. We'll reply within one month. It's free.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

12. Keeping it safe

Everything is sent over encrypted connections. Your uploads are stored privately, not on a public web address, and only the people making your film can open them. Each order can only be added to using its own secure code, and your finished film is shared only by a private link sent to you.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date below. If the change is important and affects an order you've placed, we'll email you.
